A TRIP TO EGOLI
I recently (June 2011) had to drive up to Johannesburg and surfed the internet for suitable accommodation. I chanced upon ‘Flintstones Guest House’ which was (a) in my price range, (b) geographically conveniently situated (c) looked appealing in their advert and (d) I fancied the name.
What was initially a one night stopover, turned into a 4 night stay. Although an extended stay in the middle of a Highveld winter was not my idea of fun, I wasn’t disappointed with my accommodation !

Not too expensive !

Elephant waiting for a crocodile so that he
(she?) can make a trunk call
(and so, Best Beloved, refer to Rudyard Kipling – ‘How the elephant got its trunk’)

Breakfast area for ‘sun-deck’ days

Looks inviting – pity it’s the middle of winter
